Following a grant Of Almost $300,000 awarded by the Florida Division of Historic Assets, the College of South Florida St. Petersburg’s John C. Williams House will see vital restorations as an effort To cease damage from extreme climate.
With the grant and money put forth by USF St. Petersburg, over $560,00 Shall be allotted to fund The house’s restoration, Which might span over The subsequent two years.
Inconstructed 1891, The house belonged to Widespread John C. Williams, the co-Founding father of The metropolis of St. Petersburg.
In 1997, USF St. Petersburg acquired the construction and with the assist of the City of St. Petersburg, Collectively with grants from the Florida Division of Historic Assets and the Florida Division of State, The house was moved from its unique location and onto campus.

Working in tandem with former USF St. Petersburg Assistant Director of Planning and Enchancment Ed Lewis, Director of Evaluation, John Johnson, Chair of Historic previous and Political Science Michael Francis and Managing Principal of Renker Eich Parks Architects Paul Palmer, Toler submitted a request for a small grant to survey the constructing and create An in depth architectural plan in 2019.
